Ons gesels hierdie maand oor die vraag — WAAROM NOEM ONS ONSSELF CHRISTENE? Eerskomende Sondag gaan Dr Rudi Labuschagne die gesprek lei rondom die begrip Christ-Consciousness en waarom dit nodig is om in vandag se tyd buite die beperkte definisie van ‘Christenskap’ te dink en te leef. As Paulus, en ander Bybelskrywers, verwys na “soos Christus” dan gaan dit veeleerder oor dit wat ons ingemeen het met Christus ... om met ander woorde soos Christus ʼn Messias te word/wees vir ons gesin, ons milieu, werk, familie en sosiale kring. Daarin was Jesus ʼn voorbeeld en inspirasie en daarin bemagtig hy ons deur die Gees. Kom gesels Sondag saam oor wat dit beteken om Christen genoem te word in die 21ste eeu. Daar is geen spanning of paradoks om ʼn nuwe verstaan en ervaring te hê van die Christelike geloof nie.

Ons het die jaar begin met dié aanhaling uit Jacob Norby se boek, ‘Blessed Are the Weird: A Manifesto for Creatives’ — en miskien is dit belangrik om ons weer daaraan te herinner:
Blessed are the weird people — poets, misfits, writers, mystics heretics, painters & troubadours — for they teach us to see the world through different eyes 
Blessed are those who embrace the intensity of life’s pain and pleasure, for they shall be rewarded with uncommon ecstasy. 
Blessed are ye who see beauty in ugliness, for you shall transform our vision of how the world might be. 
Blessed are the bold and whimsical, for their imagination shatters ancient boundaries of fear for us all. 
Blessed are ye who are mocked for unbridled expression of love in all its forms, because your kind of crazy is exactly that freedom for which the world is unconsciously begging. 
Blessed are those who have endured breaking by life, for they are the resplendent cracks through which the light shines.

Twee Sondae gelede het ons afgesluit met ʼn aanhaling, ook uit Norby se boek, en laat dit ons herinnering wees vir die res van die week --
