Hierdie week se liturgie: 24_november_2013

Ons gesels hierdie maand oor die tema: THE GIFT OF LIFE ― na aanleiding van die woorde van Jesus uit Johannes 10:10 “Ek het gekom sodat julle lewe kan hê, en dit in oorvloed!” Ons het reeds deur wonderlike lewenslesse geblaai en die afgelope paar Sondae was ʼn heerlike reis om van mekaar te leer oor wat dit beteken om hierdie lewe met albei arms te omhels. Die oeroue waarheid — “The Journey is the Way” is maar net weereens onderstreep. Of soos Pablo Picasso gesê het: “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away!”
So twee weke terug was daar ʼn aanhaling van Louie Schwartzberg se wonderlike YouTube insetsel getiteld, “GRATITUDE” in ons liturgie en wil dit graag vandag met jul almal deel ...
“You think this is just another day in your life. It’s not just another day. It’s the one day that is given to you today. It’s given to you. It’s a gift. It’s the only gift that you have right now. and the only appropriate response is gratefulness. If you do nothing else but to cultivate that response to the great gift that this unique day is, if you learn to respond as if it were the first day in your life and the very last day, then you will have spent this day very well. Begin by opening your eyes and be surprised that you have eyes you can open, that incredible array of colours that is constantly offered to us for our pure enjoyment. Look at the sky. We so rarely look at the sky. We so rarely note how different it is from moment to moment with clouds coming and going. We just think of the weather and even of the weather we don’t think of all the many nuances of weather. We just think of good weather and bad weather. This day right now is unique weather, maybe a kind that will never exactly in that form come again. The formation of clouds in the sky will never be the same that is right now. Open your eyes. Look at that.”
Galasiërs 5:22 noem nege Vrugte van die Gees — liefde, vreugde, vrede, geduld, vriendelikheid, goedheid, getrouheid, nederigheid, en selfbeheersing ... wat net een ding sê: geluk (happiness) is nie iets wat jy êrens anders kry nie, dit kan nie besit of verdien word nie; ook nie opgebruik of wegraak nie. Dit is almal geskenke wat reeds aan jou gegee is! Denis Waitley skryf êrens: Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude! En daarmee sluit ons eerskomende Sondag af --
     (i) If you say “Life is hard”, ask yourself, “Compared to what?” — the power of vulnerability
     (ii) The consciousness of loving — forgiveness is the only salvation
     (iii) Think like there is no box — eyes are useless if the mind is blind
     (iv) Transformation happens one small step at a time — take responsibility
     (v) Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn — don’t give up
     (vi) You are your most important relationship — discover your Divine spark
     (vii) Three things matter: how much you loved; how gently you lived; and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.
Louie Schwartzberg se ‘Gratitude’ sluit af met dié woorde -- “So these are just a few of an enormous number of gifts to which we can open your heart. So I wish you that you would open your heart to all these blessings and let them flow through you, that everyone whom you will meet on this day will be blessed by you, just by your eyes, by your smile, by your touch. Just by your presence. Let the gratefulness overflow into blessing all around you. Then it will really be a good day.”
